Everything is coming up roses

Well it was when it was the entire loaf.

I have so much red based soap to use up but wanted to make something delicate but distinct. In other words, be a glutton for punishment. I really liked how it turned out though, and because I was lazy and couldn't be bother to find my baby rose FO, I reached under my work counter and grabbed the strawberry scent instead. No, it doesn't make sense, but that's never been one of my strong points. ;)

I've switched to using a DSLR instead of my little point and shoot, I think it makes a world of difference/

At this point, the top layer is so shiny, they look like the rose buds look like they're on ice.

    1. Thank you dear! It was definitely a labour of love, measuring out each layer to try and keep them as even as possible. Yeah, a DSLR is a wonderful camera to use especially for close up shots. Strawberry's a nice scent, but gosh darn it, I had BB's Baby Rose scent to use and I completely forgot!

  2. You need such patience for layered soaps, I admire you! How can you have such a shining top, when the soap is obviously dry? This is my dream!
I love rose scents, but many of them accelerate trace badly. How does baby rose behave? Never tried it...

    1. It's funny because I usually think of myself as anything but patient. I'm not sure how the top remained shiny Madame Propre, perhaps I poured it at just the right moment? I'm also not detail oriented usually. Baby rose works fine for me, but doing MP soaps is different from CP soaps right?

  3. Well, you can always make another loaf, scented with Baby Rose ( Why is it called 'baby' ? ), because this one is so beautiful, I believe you're gonna stay without a single piece in a day or two. The top is gorgeous, it really looks like frozen.

    1. That's true Maja, I just might have to make another loaf just so the scent matches the topping. I think the description says it's baby rose because it's a softer version of rose.

I would love it if your prediction is correct about one day being able to sell them all, that would make me one happy camper.

    1. Thanks Anne-Marie. I think I went through all the Soapqueen videos to refresh my memory and get inspiration to make this one.

    1. Thank you Michelle! The layers were a lot of work, but I like to think well worth the effort. I've seen others use rose buds as toppings and really liked how they looked.

  7. Very pretty layers, Monica! I like how they gradually get lighter, layer by layer. The rose buds on top look so elegant and add a really nice touch, too.

    1. Thank you for noticing the graduated layers Jenny. I probably should've written down percentages, but that goes against my non-detailed personality. Rose buds can make everything look better right? ;)

    1. Thank you Silvia! I agree with you about the scents going together, after all, they're both indicative of spring/summer.
